IDS is delighted to announce certification to BS ISO/IEC 27001:2013
19th December 2014

Interactive Driving Systems is delighted to announce the independent certification of our Global Operations Center and its Information Security Management Systems to BS ISO/IEC 27001:2013.

For over 15 years IDS has worked diligently and successfully with our IT partners at NTT to 'protect' our clients and their drivers' personal information every step of the way within Virtual Risk Manager; from training and license records, incident, collision and telematics data through to details of road safety interventions between drivers and their managers.

Today, in addition to the ongoing audits, annual penetration testing and independent certifications achieved by our dedicated data center in London, our Global Operations Center in West Yorkshire, (United Kingdom), where IDS originated, achieved independent certification to BS ISO/IEC 27001:2013.

Under the guidance and leadership of IDS' Chief Information Officer, Mark Spittlehouse, we completed the 2 day assessment with no 'non-conformities' - this is Mark's second child this year!

Andy Cuerden, IDS Managing Director / Executive VP, said, "the dedicated team of professionals at IDS are very proud of our track record in looking after and protecting our clients and their drivers' personal information. It is a trust we hold very seriously and is never taken for granted. The primary mission of this business is helping our clients ensure their drivers return home safely to their loved ones at the end of each working day, but at the same time, we are working with high levels of personal information including names, email addresses, license numbers and road safety records, which if not secured to the highest standards can have identify theft issues for employees."

Ed Dubens, IDS Founder and CEO, said, "from the secure receipt of employee information from our clients and partners Safety, Risk, Fleet, Insurance and HR Departments, the organizations we work with can be assured that at all times, 24/7/365, we are operating to the highest possible standards. Not only in helping them achieve our core mission, but also in protecting their drivers' data from exploitation. Ongoing annual assessment visits from BSI, starting in October, 2015, will also ensure we continue to serve our clients with distinction in this critically important area."

BSI Assessment Report: Visit Start Date 16/12/2014.

Management Summary: Overall Conclusion.

We are pleased to recommend that the scope of activities detailed in this report meet registration requirements for BS ISO/IEC 27001:2013.

The areas assessed during the course of the visit were found to be effective.

During the assessment several pages of hand written notes were taken recording compliance with both the standard and the documented Information technology service management system. As part of this process some observations have been made that the client may wish to consider for improvement purposes.

The assessor would like to thank all staff involved in the assessment for their cooperation, they were all particularly helpful and had obviously worked very hard both developing documentation and implementing processes for this assessment to be successful. Staff seen on the visit were competent and knowledgeable of the work being undertaken and following the company procedures.
